Switzerland Day 2

From Montreux, we took the golden pass train to La Gruyere. From there, we changed train from Montrovon to BROC Fabrique. The whole traveling time took us about 2-3 hours. You can download the SBB apps to find the timing of the train! Finally we arrived at Cailler! Switzerland is famous for their chocolate, so here we are at the chocolate factory!

Finally, after hours of traveling we are here at Caillers.
Ok! I look super short beside these ermmm. Don't know what is it called? Mascots or something? Is our lucky day! We get to have a free drink and bread. Both of us order the hot chocolate since we don't drink coffee. Oh! Again, entrance fee is FREE! We joined the English speaking tour around the factory. Pretty interesting and we get to smell the different kind of chocolate beans and where it is originate from, the founders and etc. Amazing how these beans can make super nice chocolates!

They also shown us how the chocolate we ate are being produced. From making - moulding - packaging! How technology advances made those machines do the work so easily and quick.

Ok the most exciting part of this tour is....... You actually get to eat as much chocolate as you want at this chocolate room!! Just look at the wide selections that they have...plus all the pretty chocolate box container! I bought one for myself thou! Sbd loves chocolate, so you should know what happen next!

The baby is really cute! I think is really my lucky day.. We were told that chocolate making class is only for the kids since is weekend..hahahaha!!! But in the end, the lady at the counter decided to give us 2 slots...!! Guess she can sense MY disappointment. All the way from Singapore! Anyway, the downside is we have to wait for 1 hour! So we were pretty torn if we should just leave to go to the next destination or stay but glad that we stayed! I think I am a kid at heart.. :)
While waiting for the chocolate making lesson to start!
Since years ago, I decided to stop buying soft toys so for memories sake - Snap a photo with it!
 Finally it started!

These are all the ingredient that I need to decorate on my chocolate!

 3 flavors to choose from!
He choose the dark chocolate while I choose my fav white chocolate as the base.

Creativity time started.

And is done!
Time to put inside the freezer.
The final product!
 Last step is packaging.
Put the chocolate in a nice plastic or eat it immediately!

 my bridal nails!

Next destination is La Maison Du Gruyere. Aside from chocolate, cheese is one of the MUST eat when you are in Switzerland! The museum was pretty small and not as fanstatic. You can skip this if you want. The museum shows what kind of grass the cow eats and if you go at the right timing, you can see how they make cheese. After a short 10 mins we left to see the old town of gruyere. We wanted to visit the Chateau de Gruyeres but it opened only till 4.30. Nonetheless, we still managed to get some nice shots!

 Love this photo.
 Swiss Alps right behind us.
We were recommended by colleagues to try out the Cheese Fondue! So we settled for this cottage Swedish looking restaurant. Ordered one Cheese Fondue to share and the waitress are thinking why are we ordering 1 and not 2. Anyway the portion is really huge! Comes with prickles, bread, meat and potato! We can't finish them.

Long journey back to the hotel and we had some time to snap some photos while waiting for the train.

Boots that I bought from timberland!

Till the next!

Switzerland - Montreux

Long awaited honeymoon trip!

First stop is Switzerland - Montreux.
We took British Airways and transit via London Heathrow airport to Geneva airport. Upon reaching we went straight to SBB to collect the swisspass and hotel vouchers. Sbd booked the hotels through swisstour but i think you can book it directly by yourself. Guess it is much cheaper that way!

Why we or rather I choose Switzerland? I have seen and heard so much about this place so i decided to spend about 9 days exploring this country. Slow pace country and I think we need time to rest and relax after all the wedding preparation. So here we go! But still i hope that i will get a chance to go Greece one day! Having saboten dinner before we head off.

Upon reaching Montreux, we left our luggage at the hotel lobby and went for a stroll at lake Geneva since there is no room available. The sight we see is breath-taking! Isn't it awesome if we have such view everyday? We were pretty shagged out due to the long haul flight! Hence no photos of us!

We decided to head to one of the mall there to have lunch. Everything was pretty expensive there, even the macdonald there cost about 18 sgd for one set of meal. In the end, we settled for this fast food place called "MIGROS BIO". The price was pretty decent! Sbd loves the pie. So it wasn't that bad after all.

We bought some chocolate at the supermarket and since we walked pass the mobile shops, we decided to check out the price for Swisscom data card, it was about 20CHF for one month. So we bought it and used it immediately!

The hotel we stayed is Hotel Helvetie which is about 2 bus stop away from Montreux station. Pretty convenient and just opposite there is the casino and some eatery places.

After washing up, we changed and visited CHATEAU de CHILLON. It is so good to have the unlimited swisspass, train, bus and entrance fee to these places are all free! So basically you only need to prepare money for just food and shopping.

Since we have some time, next we decided to visit the Photo Musee. Most of the museums closes before 6. We managed to get there at 5 and the 4 levels took us about 45 mins! Luckily no need to pay for entrance fee! :)

Then it was dinner time! The Swisscom sale person recommended us to go and eat at City Burger which happened to be around the area hence we decided to give it a try! We shared one meal since the portion is quite huge and we are both small eaters. It was not too bad but seemed like the locals prefer to cook at home rather than eat out as it is very costly. That pretty much sum up our day 1!
