National Day Preview

Hello August!

It's Singapore's birthday.

Finally after many years of balloting, we have got 4 tickets to 2nd preview last Saturday!

Sometime in mid June, I submitted hub's IC number and mine. Guess what, those tickets are won under his and he proudly said that it shall be my birthday present cause it falls on my actual birthday date. 😌
We are so excited about it, been wanting to bring LX for NDP show since last year. Last year we only managed to get two tickets which is not enough because infant regardless of age are required to have a ticket too.
The fourth ticket goes to my patriotic mum who have been going for NDP show consecutively for 3 years now.

Every year she will ask if there are any tickets for her. She just loves to watch NDP parade but she was disappointed that it not on the actual day thou! 😂
All decked in red and white, our very first NDP.

The weather is killing me, so so hot. I'm like perspiring all over. The most tedious part have got to be braving through the crowd and walking up to the floating platform.

There are no fans around and it was a nice gesture of them to use cardboards to blow wind at us while we are walking up and kept asking us to drink more water.
The parade started with songs and the Singapore wave.

Her eyes are glued on one of the guy who was standing very near to us as demonstrating all the dancing move and actions. She followed and kept clapping her hands.
My timid toddler clinging on tightly to papa.

She is afraid of the loud sound by the flying fighter planes, fireworks and air rifles. Kept signalling to us that she's 怕怕.
munching on snacks and spot her new tattoo!
眯眯眼。

She requested another tattoo on her left arm 😂
she likes to shrugged her shoulder like this recently. no idea where she learned it from.

She was very well entertained by the people sitting behind us. Kept secretly looking at them from time to time.
her little friend who happen to have the same color zone tickets as us.
group wefie - look at these two, making cheeky faces 😅
So proud to be a Singaporean!

Singing the national anthem and those nostalgic songs bring back lots of memories.

When I was 14, I remembered being part of NDP. All the weekends are burnt practicing under the hot sun for months just for that one day.

Those hilarious funny costume that they made us worn was meh. I remembered we are part of the wave formation back then, decked in blue elastic suit with blue loop at the waist. 😂
So glad that it is at the floating platform this year. As usual, the fireworks looks amazing which means it coming to the end of the parade.
Braving through the crowd again to go back and this little one saw a few kids were on their daddies' shoulder and she requested the same.
"Any tips to share on bringing baby? Very scared they cranky and dun wanna sit down."
My friend asked the above and thought I should share for those who are going on the actual day with toddler. I too was worried getting her to sit through the three hours parade.

1) Do not reach too early cause it is way too hot and unbearable for them.
2) Bring some of their favourite snacks, it always works to keep them still.
3) Rem to prepare their dinner and bring along as food is not provided.
4) Bring along earplugs if they are afraid of loud noises
5) Water to keep them hydrated.
6) Umbrella is a must just in case it rains cause there is no shelter unlike the indoor stadium.
No need for toys as the goodies bag are filled with lots of stuff for them to play with. Like tattoos, National Day flags with light etc.

They probably are too busy looking around at everything else that was happening there then being cranky 😂
