Perth With A Toddler

Back to our Aussie trip to Perth.

To those who are as clueless as we are during our planning, here are some of our favourite places that we have visited which are very toddler/kids friendly places.

They have a lots of fun activities to keep them entertained which is perfect for us!

We do not have an itinerary and all the places are decided only on the night before 😅

Cavensham Wildlife Park

This place needs no introduction, it is a must to go! This is the place to see kangaroos and koala bear at close proximity.

We reached there only at 10am instead of the intended 9am cause she woke up really late that day. The weather is just so nice to sleep in!
This is what we have done except feeding penguin in the following sequences:

1) Feed the Kangaroos
2) Meet the Wombat and Friends
3) Meet the Koalas 🐨
4) Farm Show
5) Went to see chicken 🐔 and sheep 🐑 (you can enter anytime of the day. Animals roaming around with no fence)
6) Molly Farm (It is an outdoor area and all animals are fenced up)
They have specific timing for all the above, if u follow these sequences you will be able to finish all by 2.30pm and there won't be long waiting time in between the shows.

We included a break for LX to eat her lunch too. Luckily we cooked and packed her food out because within the premise there are no cafes or any restaurants around.

The locals there packed their own sandwiches and food. They do have a big area with table and chairs for you to consume the food that you bring along.
Gosh! I'm like a kid all over again. Is my first time seeing a koala and I'm pretty excited over it. 😂
So so soft and fluffy!

LX just kept patting the Koala and totally do not want to look at the camera after so many attempts.
I think this is a wallaroo, he is the most photogenic one that I have seen among the rest.

He is very cooperative, he stayed still and let us snap photos with him.

Find this pretty kangaroo if you are there! If you are lucky enough you might caught him posing when you whip out your camera of phone 😂
she is trying to feed her. totally not scare of it!
Queue for this first before you start meeting the rest of the "friends". This is the longest queue of all the stations.
too cute!
The big area outside the farm show which have tables and chairs.

The farm show shows how they shave off their 🐑 fur , how they use the whip and etc.

LX happily walking back and forth the long benches!
At Molly's farm after LX's lunch. We are all famished except her! We only prepared her lunch and not ours. 😂

Baby Animals Farm at Fermentle

It is a small cosy corner with assistance around at this animal farm. You just have tell them which is the animal that you would like to touch/feed, they will wrap up the animal in cloth and put on your lap.

I seldom get in touch with animals so this is really helpful! At least I won't accidentally hurt them. Some of the farms we went, there is basically no one around and you are free to do what you want.

I don't dare to even hold the animals cause I didn't know how! 😅
feeding the hamster with carrot 🥕

On another side of it, they bought in sheep, chickens and the lady that is really nice. LX is scared but yet at the same time didn't want to leave. The lady bought over little animal like chicks for her to warm up.

Eventually she starts to walk freely and stroke them gently.

We had lots of fun there even thou is a mere 45 minutes and totally loving this small scale animal farm!
Some useful information:
1) Opens only on weekends from 9am - 11am
2) It is based on donations, no need for entry fees.
3) Hidden at some corner at Fermentle market.
4) Besides the farm, there is a free lance painter who is there to paint for little kids on their arms or face at 5 AUD.

The Fruit Corner

Fruits picking has been on my list to do in Aussie. I started checking out which are the fruit farms that is near Perth City. It's quite challenging as it is Winter season in Perth during June and most of the fruits are not ready for harvest.

Few days before going down, I dropped them an message and yay! Apples are available for picking!
LX caught in action picking 🍏
I must say these two are certainly having lots of fun there!
😂
🍎 🍎🍎
The apples that we picked.

I saw locals buying in kilos which is equivalent to 2-3 pails full filled with apples.
my little apple helper carrying them back to the car.

Some useful information:
1) Is colder in the fruits picking area and air seemed fresh. Wear something thicker to keep you warm.
2) We paid 5 AUD per pax to go into the Fruit Orchard.
3) You will be given a pail each to collect as many apples as you want, they will weight and charge accordingly at 0.50cents per kg.
4) There is no time limit and at the Fruit Orchard there are small benches and chairs available for picnic.

Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm
Real life tractor to ferry the little kids around the farm and there is a merry go round.
There are many different area for different animals and you can go in freely with no restrictions.

LX went around stroking the deer.. 😂

the highlight of this place is we get to feed the little sheep!
they are really cute!
I'm pretty excited myself cause is my first time feeding a sheep too 😅
she took her first pony ride and she really likes it. I was afraid she will back out at the last min cause she sat it alone with the poney trainer without us following her.
🐴
🐑🐑🐑
look at that big bottle of milk! the small horse that was born only a few days is really very strong.

He was like playing tugging and pulling game when I tried feeding him. I almost lost my balance when standing to feed him 😂
Some useful information

1) Adults are required to pay entry fee, kids under two is free.
2) This place have a sand playground with a big big tractor.
3) There is an area where you can feed those animals like rabbits, hamster and chicks.
4) To be able to feed the sheep and horse, be sure to stay till their closing time!

It is only close to their closing time and in the morning when it opens that they feed the animals. We didn't know about it beforehand!

Adventurescape Playground Austin Lakes

This is the furthest we have drove for all 6 days of our stay in Perth. It took us about an hour to get there by car. I was already regretting my decision when we are half way into reaching the place 😂

It must have been tiring for the husband who is the one driving because I'm dozing off myself! Luckily LX is taking her afternoon nap, no cranky toddler in the car.

This iconic pig 🐷 slide with a half eaten apple chair.
There are a lot of life size animal statues and LX really loves sitting up on them.
A life size horse 🐴
LX didn't want to join in for photo. So finally a photo of just the both of us!
This is a very big scale playground with no shortage of swings and there is a windmill slide that is 8.5m. I didn't even dare to take it myself.😂

We did try the super fast double cable flying fox with LX and she enjoyed it.
This could have been my longest post ever!
I'm missing the times in Perth after seeing all these photos. This got to be my most relaxing trip ever.

Hope is useful for mummies/daddies who are planning a trip there!

All these places requires minimum thirty minutes drive to an hour depending on how fast you drive. We didn't really want to do long distance driving with a toddler.
