Our Crib...

We moved in since November'14 and  I know I am really slow in updating.
BUT......This is an important milestone of our life so here we go.
The theme of the house is in white, grey and black since we can easily change them by replacing the furniture or by adding some touch to the house decoration.

Our crib is directly facing the lift so I decided that I want to have more privacy so we built a bottom up cupboard and at the side there is full length mirror. There is a little corner for us to display some decor and photos too and a sitting ledge for sbd to wear his shoes. We did the cushion at IKEA since that is the only place that have the cloth that we wanted.

Cushion - Customized from IKEA
Decor - From taobao
Print outs - From pinterest
Black white photo frame - From universal studio
So to visualize this space, directly behind the shoe rack is our very small and cosy living room.
We did not build any false ceiling because we felt that it will make the area even smaller.
All the lighting points are the existing ones that HDB provides hence we save a little here by not asking them to re-shift the wiring. We opted for a ceiling fan with light and was contemplating between black and white. Eventually settled for a white ones. The dining light that you see here are our best buy from taobao!
There is some discount going on and this light only cost us about 80 sgd but we changed all the 3 bulbs to the ones that we bought from hipvan instead of using theirs. Worried that it will catch fire haha..

Dining Light, Telescope Light, Black frames on the wall - Tao Bao
Light bulbs - Hipvan Online Store
Sofa - Castlery Store
Featured Wall - Wall Tiles - Hafary
Extendable Dining Table & Chairs - Harvey Norman
Blinds - Done by our neighbour
Ceiling Fan - Shop from Ubi

The only carpentry work we did is the TV console and I think it isn't very cheap.
Just a very simple and clean console with all wiring hidden inside.

Close up photos of the living area with the telescope light shining on the wall.
"Worry Less and Smile More" is the quote to keep us going :)
For photo effect, i think they took out the small table light which was supposed to be place at study table but ended up we don't really use it cause it is quite bulky! Oh yes, the floor tiles we eventually settled for the matt ones cause I don't really fancy homogenous tiles as it will have a reflective shine. So after staying after about 8 months, I think we made the right choice just that maybe the color we choose did not really matches the house! haha but it is easy to clean and maintain.
All the decor you see here is mostly from taobao..
Taobao is a heaven for all sort of things and is really cheap!

Close up view of our dining area and the rectangle square you see here are all part of the design from my shoes rack. We painted all the borders to black color. So this look like some product shots advertising for IKEA. We bought all the plates, bowls, cups and dining mat from there and it matches our black white grey theme!

Once you enter the house, you will see the full length mirror and turn left will be the kitchen.
Nothing too fanciful for the kitchen, we did a glass door and down the road this is probably the only thing that we would want to change. Glass door is not very practical and is quite dangerous if you have a kid at home. Most likely we will change it in time to come. The ideas of the kitchen are mainly comes from SBD, except for the dual colors that I choose. He wanted all grey thou. haha
All the hinges on the cupboard we used blum and comes with soft closing.
From big appliance like hood and oven is Ariston, hob from bosch and our super big sink is from blanco.
Small appliances mainly from Philips and nitty gritty small things like scissors, knives etc are all from Robinson.
So if you see from the fourth photo earlier on, this is the walkway to all 3 rooms, bomb shelter and common toilet. We got the base of the light from local lighting shop and the light bulbs are from hip-van. They are called the plumen light bulb! So the design is different from the norms. I opted in for HDB doors and ended up changing all of it cause it is too big and doesn't match the theme. Super waste money I know! But not much of a choice I guess. Anyway, we bought a grey clock from Taobao to hide the bomb shelter and our house comes with 2 of it. The other one is hidden under a faux wall, we painted the border to black and door changed to white. For flooring, we used all the same throughout the room.
The room on the right is now a game/mj room and we are in the midst of converting it to a nursery room.
Will show you the pic once all the decor it up.

The second door is actually just a door with no function. Technically speaking you can't open it up. haha
Will tell you why later on. So the front door is the entrance to our master bedroom.
Upon entering, you will be able to see our workplace corner where our labtops and printers are.
All the furniture you see here are from Home Harmony at TPY.
They are not customized nor involves any carpentry work. We bought it off the rack and they come to install it for free if you spend above $500.
The quality is way much better than IKEA and the 2 white chairs we bought it from IKEA.
We bought a white chalkboard film from 3M and install it at the window since we can't cover it up as the aircon is there. Credit to SBD to come up with this brilliant idea! So all the decor are done by me!
So beside the study area is our queen size storage bed. We kept all the bedsheets, sofa covers etc there.
The only carpentry we did is the window ledge cabinet and customized the cushion seat from IKEA.
It allows us to have more storage places for our things. The 2 squares boxes are removable and comes in a set of 3,. We used 1 at the game room to store the games. I asked my mum to sew the polka dot cover for me to match the theme. hehe. All the lighting you see are from IKEA too, we only have a ceiling fan with light in this room hence those orangey light is good when we surf net or chit chat before we sleep. So if you notice there is no wardrobe in the master bedroom. We reckon that it will be too small/tight for us if u put it in the same room and we do not want to hack the walls.
So instead we hack a small hole opening behind the door and utilize the whole room to do our walk in wardrobe! Only master bedroom we used curtains, the rest we used black/white wooden blinds and i like the ceiling fan in the walk in wardrobe! It is a smaller mini version but the wind is really strong and I opted out to do aircon in this room since we mainly change there and won't be inside for too long unless SBD iron his clothes. This walk-in wardrobe we used it to store our luggage bag, ironing board and my steamer!

There is no carpentry involved too! We outsource to a vendor called OPSH and are satisfied by their workmanship. You can customized them accordingly to your needs/wants. I have a mini make up table inside the wardrobe! Maybe i should take a picture soon to show how it looks like :)
We also have a see through drawer with small compartment to store my rubber bands, watches etc.
This is a brief virtual view of how our house looks like.
Loving it so far as it have everything that I wanted!
Will update more on the little details once I got the time.
