TOKYO DAY 1

Konichiwa !! Back to blog about my Tokyo trip with QQ!
First time taking Delta Airlines :)
My favorite carpet shot that is a "MUST" everytime I travel.

Say "Hello" to my travel-mates for the next 7 days!

We went from 8th - 15th Oct 2012, booked the air tickets and hotel 2 weeks before the travel dates over at Expedia . All settled at one go, very convenient for people like us who is traveling to Tokyo for the first time! We took Delta Airlines and stayed 7 days at Shinjuku Washington Hotel and it cost us roughly about 1128 per pax. The flight timing is 6am SG timing and it took us 7 hrs 10 mins to reach Tokyo from Singapore! There is an hour time difference in Tokyo hence we reach Narita airport around 2pm.

Greeted the following upon reaching! :)
The country that I have always wanted to go!

So how to travel from Narita Airport to Shinjuku Washington Hotel?
Once exit from the airport, turn to the right side, there is a elevator down where you can purchase the train tickets.

Told the person we wanted to get Suica & N'EX package (Ordinary Car @ 5500 yen) – Round trip from Narita Airport to Tokyo (or Yokohama) and back to Narita Airport within a two week period. Includes Suica card with 2000yen value (500 deposit, 1500 initial balance)

It comes in a set like this.
First ticket for traveling from Narita Airport to Shinkuju.
Second is the Suica card that you will need daily when you take JR or normal trains.
Third one is to be used on your last day to travel from Shinkuju back to Narita Airport.

Our "HOME" for next 7 days! :)
It is super small, just nice for 2 luggage and barely any walking space.
Everything that you need are there thou.
The toilet bowl is super awesome with all the buttons.

First stop of the day!
The walk from Washington Hotel to Shinjuku Station is about 8 minutes walk from South Exit.
We went to Shinjuku area to find food for dinner and walk around at Lumine1 and 2 shopping mall and surroundings with lots of other malls!

Photos of the awesome things that we saw:

Tonnes and tonnes of Washi Tape

Pretty cups and household items!
Love the polka dot pot too
Lots of different variety of drinks
Heart their vending machine!
Located almost everywhere.
Finally found this place for Ramen!
This was in one of the recommended ramen eatery in our Japan book and I suppose this is very famous among the Japanese! We had to queue to eat this.
The one located at Shinjuku area is opened 24 hours.

Upon reaching, there is a machine for you to choose what you want to eat.
It is sort of like a vending machine for food.
After you selected what you want, it will dispense a ticket out.
We choosen 2 ramen and 1 egg!
There q does not end there, after the above is done, you will be given a preference list to circle how you want your ramen to be cooked! Do remember to ask for a English version as we were given a Japanese version which we did not understand at all. haha

Interior of the place where people are on slurping on their ramen so loudly! :)
Come with individual seating and quite enclosed.

QQ in her small enclosed area waiting for her ramen! :)

Here comes my ramen!
Aww.. I am missing this now.
This bowl of noodles cost us 790 yen which is equivalent to roughly 12.50 sgd.
I find the soup base very very nice! i drank it clean from the bowl!
Iti si so much nicer than those that we have in SG but QQ find it ok only.
Will go back for it the next time round :)

After a hearty dinner!
Is time for some shopping and all the titbits looks so good there :)

Lots of winter clothing that are very cheap there!
You can spot H&M, F21,Topshop and Uniqlo around the area.
They are pretty popular among the Japanese too.

Green hat which i did not buy.. looks funny!.

The below pretty sum up our Day 1!
Day 2 coming up soon :)
Hope this above information is useful for those planning to go Tokyo! :)
